Succeeding with ADHD | Testimonial

A Testimonial from Forest’s Parents

Our educational journey with our son Forest started in Kindergarten when I really felt the tug in my heart to homeschool him. There were so many reasons to do it for us —— but honestly, none of them were academic. Forest flourished at home with one-on-one tutoring until 4th grade when I started a new business and no longer had the time to educate him at home.

My husband and I decided to enroll Forest in a private, Christian school that year. We quickly realized our son was failing every class, and shortly thereafter, he was diagnosed with ADHD.  We knew he was being treated differently, facing discrimination or being bullied —— and these things were just not acceptable for our sweet son. Children with ADHD have trouble coping with academic work and he was often feeling frustrated and engaged in challenging behaviors due to the difficulties he was experiencing.

Through many trials we came to Educational Pathways Academy (EPA), a school for ADHD in Florida, and Molly Arthur’s team. Molly is truly a gifted leader. From Forest's first day of 6th grade, he fell in love with all the teachers and staff at EPA. He actually has a smile on his face every day and says he LOVES school, which as any parent of a teenager knows is a rare thing indeed! EPA gives personalized support that motivates progress, increases confidence, and yields growth in our students.

Forest’s journey has brought so much joy and peace back to our home! It used to be torture to get him to go to school with tantrums, whining and pouting, bribing. Not anymore, Praise God!

The teachers at EPA strive to make it comfortable for all abilities. They pray daily for our children and help foster a love of learning to last a lifetime. He has friends at school! For the first time, Forest feels included and part of something great. It’s the greatest gift EPA has given us. If you’re considering EPA for your child and family, we urge you to call the school and set up a meeting. You will not be disappointed.
