Educational Pathways Academy is excited to offer a 6-week Jewelry Fabrication Course to homeschool high school students (Grades 9-12) in our community! This hands-on class provides a unique opportunity to learn fundamental jewelry-making techniques while creating custom, handcrafted pieces. Taught by Mrs. Shelby Wandrey, the Director of our Art Career Education Studies (ACES) Program and Enrichment Outreach Program, this course fosters creativity, craftsmanship, and skill-building in a supportive, small-group setting.

What Students Will Learn

Throughout this 6-week course, students will explore foundational jewelry fabrication techniques, including:

  • Soldering – Learn how to safely and effectively join metal pieces.

  • Metal Punching – Create decorative textures and patterns in metal.

  • Wire Wrapping – Master the art of wrapping headpins and eyepins for secure, stylish designs.

  • Filing & Sanding – Shape and smooth brass and other materials for a polished look.

  • Jewelry Findings – Properly use clasps, jump rings, and other essential components.

  • Design & Creation – Develop original jewelry pieces from concept to completion.

At the end of the course, students will create a final project incorporating all the skills learned, resulting in a unique, handcrafted piece they can proudly wear or gift.
