Building Community Through Service: EPA’s Meals of Hope Event

Educational Pathways Academy (EPA) recently held a Meals of Hope packing event that brought together families, teachers, and staff for a day filled with community spirit and generosity. The event was a resounding success, showcasing the commitment of the EPA community to help those in need.

Lori Kitchen, one of the event coordinators, expressed her admiration for the EPA community's dedication. She reflected on the day, saying,

“The generosity of EPA families and staff never stops amazing me. Today, 40 students, siblings, parents, and teachers came together and packed over 12,000 meals! 1/2 of these meals will go to families in SW Florida, and the other 1/2 will go to those affected by Hurricane Helene in North Carolina.

The energy and excitement (especially from the students cheering with each box packed) made it so much fun, and the time flew by. We even finished early because we exceeded our goal and ran out of supplies!”

This year’s event built on the success of last year's packing event, emphasizing EPA’s ongoing commitment to community service. The initiative not only packed meals but also reinforced the bonds that make the EPA community so unique. With each meal packed, families came together to support a cause larger than themselves, creating connections that strengthen the fabric of their community.

Lori concluded her reflections with heartfelt gratitude:

“I cannot thank everyone enough who came out today in support of the community. What a special group EPA is, and it is truly a blessing to be part of it.”

Thank you to everyone who participated in this meaningful event, proving once again the generosity and heart of Educational Pathways Academy!
