Private School for Dyslexia Launches Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our Career and Technical Education (CTE) program this 2023-2024 school year at Educational Pathways Academy! This program is designed to provide our high school students with exciting opportunities to explore and develop their interests and skills in various career fields. We understand the importance of offering a well-rounded education that prepares students with language-based learning disabilities such as dyslexia for success beyond the classroom, and our CTE program is a significant step in that direction.

Initial Launch and Future Expansion

As we begin our CTE program at Educational Pathways Academy, we will be starting with a few classes focused on different career pathways. The courses offered this 2023-2024 school year will include Agricultural Science, Entrepreneurship, Economics, and Digital/Multimedia Design. These classes have been carefully selected to offer a diverse range of options, allowing our students to explore areas of interest and passion. The initial launch of these four classes is intentional, as it enables us to build a strong foundation for CTE quality and effectiveness before expanding further.

Over the next couple of years, we plan to build upon the foundation of the CTE program, gradually expanding to include more career pathways and opportunities such as Culinary Arts and Personal Financial Literacy courses, industry-recognized certifications, internships, and a work-based learning program. This phased approach allows us to assess the program's impact, gather feedback from students and parents, and make necessary adjustments to create the best possible learning experience.

What is CTE?

A Career and Technical Education (CTE) program is an educational pathway that combines academic learning with practical skills training in specific industries or career fields. These programs are designed to equip students with both technical expertise and workplace readiness, preparing them for a successful transition to higher education, the workforce, or both. CTE programs provide students with the opportunity to explore different career pathways and emphasize hands-on experiences, specialized training, and personal support.
